The circular economy is a new economic model that focuses on the design and production of competitive materials for reuse, processing and recycling. The circular economy is an alternative to the traditional linear (create-consume-remove) economy where resources are used as long as possible and their value is maximized, then new products and materials are refurbished and created. Relying on innovation throughout the system, it aims to redefine products and services through waste-free design while minimizing negative impacts. The circular economy is based on three basic principles: 1) waste-free design and pollution, 2) retention of products and materials in use, 3) natural systems regeneration.
